My other love!

I have included a short I wrote a while ago called Lure!  It's registered, so don't be a dick and steal it.   I really hope you enjoy it!

It's an action/ romance.

I copy/ pasted it at the bottom of this page- which screwed up the formatting.

I have soooooo many awesome and new opportunites coming up in this field and I'm really excited about them. Unfortuantely I can't talk about any of them at this time!  Just know- it's going to be epic!

4th Annual Native American TV Writers Lab!

So one of the coolest things to happen to me in 2019 is my acceptance into the 4th Annunal Native American TV Writers Lab ran by SkinsFest!!

It's a 5.5 week INTENSIVE workshop where you take a TV pilot from idea to script!

And it is amazing!

We meet and talk to amazing industry people and build contacts!

It's honestly the best thing I've ever done!

INT. WAREHOUSE, VAN NUYS, CA- DAY
We open in the middle of a gun fight. Rapid-fire gunshots can be heard from every direction echoing through the large warehouse. One side, the winning side is dress in all black tactical gear, the other, losing side is in street clothes.
Bullets embed in walls and inventory narrowly missing their target. Other bullets find their mark killing or injuring the person.
Bullet shells bounce on the cold concrete floor as the two sides continue to shoot at each other in an all out war.
OLIVE “O” DELMONTE, female, 30’s, is hiding behind a large crate as her .45 runs out of ammo. She searches for another clip, but the gun fight has lasted so long, she’s definitely out. She is on the losing side of the gun fight. Cursing, she palms a large knife and looks for a way out of the chaos. On the far wall is an unguarded window.
Around the corner, BENJAMIN “BECK” BECKER, male, 30’s watches O. He keeps an eye on her, matching her movements as he signals his teammates to circle around and apprehend with non-lethal force.
O turns a corner as a gunshot pushes her back the other way. Slowly, she looks around the corner and deems it safe. Cautiously, she glances behind her not realizing Beck is in front of her. He tackles her, turning to take the impact before pushing her to the ground.
Grabbing her wrist, he slams it against the hard concrete making her release the knife she’s holding. She backhands him hard before he can control her free arm. Finally with both arms controlled she is forced to see her capturer.
Recognition dawns on her as she physically relaxes. He lets her pull an arm free from him as she reaches for his face and gently runs a finger along his lower lip.

BECK
You need to come with me.

Anger replaces the affection in O’s eyes as she surprises Beck by throwing him off her.
O jumps up and is immediately met with a gun in her face. Without pausing she slams her palm up on the man’s wrist removing the gun pointed at her as she elbows him in the ribs. She reaches for the back of his head to knee him in the face but Beck’s voice stops her.

BECK
O, STOP!

Finally looking around, she’s surrounded with all guns pointing at her. O hadn’t realized the gun fight was over, and her side lost, bad. The officer she just assaulted raises his hand to hit her back. Beck is there in a second with his gun pointed directly at the officer. He’s standing behind her protectively.

BECK
No one touches her.

O smiles at the officer as he grumbles but walks away. Beck puts his gun away and pulls out handcuffs. He slowly pulls her arms behind her and cuffs her without any resistance. She actually smiles and winks at him as she nods to the handcuffs. He’s exhausted but manages a weak smile as he gently guides her away.

INT. BLACK SUBURBAN, DRIVING - CONTINUOUS
Beck diverts his attention from driving to look into the rear view mirror at O. She sits handcuffed between two guards. She gives Beck a disapproving glare before pretending to look out the window. LOU, male 30’s, Beck’s partner sits in the passenger seat texting on his phone.

BECK
Hey, pay attention.

LOU
I’m just letting the wife know I’m fine.

BECK
Stay focused.

LOU

She’s handcuffed, she isn’t going anywhere.

Beck looks in the rear view mirror again to check on O. O is still pretending to be docile. He can’t see her hands move to the hidden pocket concealed in the belt loop of her pants containing an emergency handcuff key. Quietly she unlocks her cuffs and closes them around her knuckles.

BECK
Just make it quick. I need...

O sees her opportunity and quickly punches one of her guards in the temple with the handcuffs, knocking him out and simultaneously kicking her other guard in the face until he’s unconscious.
Beck swerves to the side of the road as O jumps over the seat and escapes out the back of the SUV. Beck and Lou jump out of the car and chase her around the corner of the large building. The alley splits three ways, Beck signals Lou to go right as he takes the middle.
O went left and circled back around to the SUV. One of the guards she knocked out, woke up and is making his way to Beck. Quickly she dumps the remaining guard on the ground and speeds off stealing Beck’s SUV.

INT. BECK’S APARTMENT- LATER THAT NIGHT
Beck unlocks his door and immediately realizes something is wrong and draws his gun.
We follow him as he looks into the kitchen and see a used food plate and glass. We hear the dryer running as he walks towards the light in his bedroom. The light is coming from his bathroom. The shower is running. Slowly he walks into the steamy room and sees O standing under the water spray. He hides his gun in a drawer before entering the bathroom.

O
Benji! It took you long enough. You must have been in a lot of trouble after losing me.

Beck walks into the shower pinning her against the wall as he kisses her.

INT. BECK’S BEDROOM- NIGHT
O wakes up and smiles, content to be tangled in the blankets with Beck. Kissing his chest, she quietly unknots herself and goes to the bathroom.
Beck immediately opens his eyes as if he’s never fell asleep. O is pulling on one of Beck’s shirts. They’re all black in his closet, this makes her smile as she pulls one to her nose to smell it. The floor creaks as Beck approaches her. O’s smile fades when she sees he’s fully dressed in work clothes.

O
You couldn’t have waited until morning?

BECK
I couldn’t risk you getting away again.

O
Fuck you. (beat) Guess, I already did.

O tries to push past him, but he won’t let her.

O
Can I at least put pants on before the rest of the party shows up?

Beck points to her clothes on the counter. Angrily she pulls her arm away and gets dressed, glaring at him the whole time. Taking off his shirt, she throws it in his face. Once she fully dressed, Beck grabs her and sticks a needle in her neck.

O
Please, Benji, don’t...

BECK
I’m sorry.

O slips into unconsciousness as Beck picks her up and carries her out of the room.

INT. SEALED INTERROGATION ROOM, UNDISCLOSED LOCATION- DAY
O wakes up groggily, trying to piece together what happened. She’s strapped to a gurney as Beck stands next to her with his supervisor next to him and a doctor busy in the background. CRAFT, Male, 50’s wears a suit, he stops talking once he sees O waking up.

CRAFT
Are you sure Becker? Because I’m losing faith in...

O
You’re a dick.

CRAFT
Olive DelMonte. It’s so nice to finally meet you. I’m sorry about the accommodations but after your escape, we can’t be too careful. We have brought you in...

O
Let me guess, I’m here because a big bad plan is being hatched and you, A) think I know something about it, or B) you need my help. Either way you can shove it up your mother...

BECK
You can be with Joey again.

Beck has fully captured O’s attention, but not in a good way, she is furious.

O
You told them about Joey? How could you? You fucking asshole? Fuck you, you son of a bitch!

Quickly the doctor sticks another needle in her arm, once again rendering her unconscious. Beck guiltily watches her fall asleep.

INT. PRISON CELL, UNDISCLOSED LOCATION- LATER THAT NIGHT
O wakes up alone in solitary confinement. Frowning, she pulls her knees to her chest to worry about Joey. After a while Beck comes in alone. Once again she glares at him as he stands in front of her.

BECK
It’s the only way I knew to make you help.

O
If anything happens to him, I will hunt you down...

BECK
He’s safe.

O
This coming from the man that’s betrayed me in every way possible.

BECK
You gave me no choice.

O
Bullshit. When I get out of here, and I will. We’re going to go so far away, not even you can find us.

BECK
He’s safe.

O
He better be.

BECK
We need you to give us your dad.

O
He’d kill me.

BECK
I won’t let that happen.

O
You won’t be able to stop him.

EXT. STREET- O’S APARTMENT BUILDING- NIGHT
From the POV of a man hidden in the shadows across the street, we see O approach her apartment building with Beck following behind her. The man picks up his phone as he continues to watch her.

INT. O’S APARTMENT- CONTINUOUS
O unlocks her door, but before she can enter, Beck grabs her arm, pulls out his gun and walks inside. As he checks out her apartment, she receives a text on her phone. She makes sure Beck is preoccupied before replying.

Text: Are you having fun?
O replies: No.

Quickly she puts her phone in her back pocket before Beck can see what she’s doing. When he reenters the living room she glares at him for the thousandth time.

BECK
Come on Olive oil, you can’t...

O

Don’t call me that.

BECK
Fine, have it your way. What’s the plan for tonight?

O
You’re going to stop talking, and I’m going to pretend that you aren’t the worst son of a bitch on the planet.

BECK
You know I would never let anything happen to him.

O
No. I don’t. So just shut up.

BECK
O, he’s...

Beck is cut off by the door being busted in. Immediately Beck pulls out his gun and points it at the intruders as O kicks it out of his hand.
A look of betrayal plays out on his face as four guys jump him, but he’s not going down without a fight. Unfortunately one of them has brass knuckles, still it takes a few hits before Beck is knocked out.

INT. SHED, SANTA CLARITA - DAY
Beck wakes up, blinking his eyes against the sun.
Automatically he knows he’s in a place few ever leave. He’s tied to a chair with dried blood caked to his face and clothes.

The first thing he focus’s on is O standing next to him. She’s no longer wearing her ‘work’ clothes, she looks like a lady wearing a dress with her hair and makeup done. They are alone and clearly she’s still very upset with him.

O
Now you know how it feels to be knocked unconscious and wake up somewhere you don’t want to be.

BECK
At least I was sweet about it and drugged you.

O
What you did was inexcusable, you’re a monster. I still don’t understand how you could...

BECK
I didn’t have a choice, this is the only way...

O
You had a choice! You’re just an asshole who doesn’t deserve...

The door opens as MARK DELMONTE, male, 50’s enters the shed. Immediately O and Beck stop arguing, as O smiles.

MARK
There’s my baby girl.

O
Dad. Are you okay?

O rushes to Mark, hugging him.

MARK
I’m fine. I was so worried about you. How did this happen?

O
We were set up. I was surrounded at the warehouse.

MARK
I’m going to kill Antonio. But you, you’re not allowed to go anymore. Understand.

O nods disappointedly, but obediently.

O
I understand.

MARK
Good.

Mark waves one of his men over and whispers in his ear. The man nods and walks way. Mark hold his hand out for O, she complies as a butt of a gun slams into Beck’s temple, knocking him out.

INT. MARK DELMONTE’S HOME OFFICE- CONTINUOUS
Mark enters the spacious and extravagantly decorated office. Priceless Native American artifacts line the wall next to large Native paintings. Mark is followed by O, who is followed by three large bodyguards and two more who wait outside the office. The door shuts, sealing O inside the office. Mark signals for O to sit in a chair as he takes his place behind the large desk. The bodyguards stand behind O ready to take any order Mark will give. Silently O sits, unsure of her future.

MARK
Benjamin Becker. He’s the man who captured you?

O
Yes.

MARK
How?

O
I told you, we were surrounded. They knew exactly what to do to take us out. We barely had any survivors.

MARK
And those who did were not released. What makes you so special?

O
I’m a lure daddy. They want what everyone wants, and that’s to catch the big fish, and you’re the biggest fish...

MARK
I’M NOT A FISH! I’M A LION!

O
I didn’t mean...

MARK
How do you know Benjamin Becker?

O tries her hardest to hide every emotion she has as the three bodyguards step closer to her chair.

O
I don’t. He grabbed me, and drugged me. The organization he works for wants me to give you to them. Obviously I refused.

Mark silently stares at O, his face is unreadable.

MARK
I heard you escaped. How did he capture you again daughter?

O is doing everything in her power to not give away anything.

O
I got cocky. I wanted to deliver his SUV back to him. I underestimated him.

MARK
You’ve always been reckless.

O remains silent, not wanting to say the wrong thing.

MARK
I shouldn’t have to tell you this, but a reminder seems to be necessary. (Beat) You are my daughter, I love you, but I value loyalty above everything. If you are hiding anything from me, I will find out, and when I do, I will kill you. Do you understand?

O
Yes.

MARK
Yes what?

O
Yes. I understand that you will kill me.

MARK

Good. Now I will only ask you one more time? How do you know Benjamin Becker? Because according to my sources, you seemed friendly.

O
I had twenty guns pointed at me. I thought it was better to be cooperative instead of reckless, for once.

MARK
That attitude is going to get you killed one day.

O changes her expression to a more civil one.

O
I’m sorry father.

MARK
Clean him up. Get information from him if you can.

O nods and turns to leave. The bodyguards do not move.

MARK
Let her go.

Immediately, the guards move out of her way as O tries to hide her shaking hands and leaves. As she opens the doors the bodyguards on the outside block her path until Mark waves them away, finally allowing her to leave.

INT. SHED- A FEW HOURS LATER
Beck wakes up in the same predicament, but with O delicately cleaning his face with a rag.

BECK
I knew you loved me.

O
I’m just doing what my dad told me to do.

BECK
I’m surprised you would risk getting blood on that pretty dress of yours.

O
My dad likes me to dress like this.

Tossing the rag back into the bloody water, she wipes her hands on a dry towel and unscrews a bottle of water. Carefully she places it at his mouth as he takes a few big gulps of water.

BECK
I like when you dress like that too. You’re beautiful.

O
I’m not untying you.

BECK
So, beautiful, where’s your dad?

O
Safe.

BECK
I didn’t realize you were such a daddy’s girl.

O
He’s my father, I love him.

BECK
But you lie to him.

O looks at him sharply, knowing anyone could be listening.

O
(Whispering)
I love Joey more, I won’t let him get wrapped up in all of this. It’s too dangerous. But you just couldn’t resist using him against me, and now he’s in danger because of you.

BECK
(Whispering)
Olive, this needs to end.

O
(whispering)
You shouldn’t have involved him!

JACOB, male, early 30’s walks in looking for O. Reaching into her pocket, she quickly grabs a ring and puts it on her ring finger. Beck notices and glares at her, but she’s already on her way to Jacob.

O
Jacob! What are you doing here?

Jacob wraps her in his arms and firmly plants a kiss on her mouth. He holds her face tenderly as he talks to her.

JACOB
I came back as soon as I heard about the warehouse. So, this is the asshole that took you?
Jacob angrily walks towards Beck, as Beck meets his glare. Jacob punches him forcefully.

O
I’m supposed to be cleaning him up, not making him worse.

JACOB
Your father and his etiquette for dead men. You shouldn’t be in the same room as this fuck. I need to see your father. We’ll talk at dinner.

Jacob grabs O, kisses her and walks away. Once Jacob is gone, O sits in front of Beck and begins cleaning his face. He angrily stares at her, and she ignores him.

BECK
He seems great. Friend of yours?

O
Husband. My father wanted me to...

BECK
(Lowering his voice)
So I shouldn’t tell him we slept together the other night?

O
No.

INT. DELMONTE DINING ROOM- NIGHT
Mark sits at the head of a very expensive and elaborate table as Jacob sits at his right and O next to Jacob. Across from them is a few shady looking characters. They are clearly uncomfortable and scared. No one is talking as Mark silently intimidates them. O quietly eats, use to her dad’s scare tactics.

MARK
Antonio. My friend. Can you explain to me...

The sounds of gunfire and shattering glass interrupts the evening as everyone falls to the ground. O hides under the table as Jacob and her dad pull out their guns.

JACOB
You betrayed us again!

ANTONIO
No! It wasn’t...

Jacob shoots Antonio and his men as they shake their heads in denial. Mark’s bodyguards come from every door to protect him. The bodyguards knock over the table to use it as coverage, returning fire. Mark grabs O and pushes her behind him.

MARK
Get to the safe room!

She tries, but there’s too much gunfire, O is pinned down and unarmed.
Large men in full tactical gear rush inside as the gunfire intensifies. It’s chaos as both sides fight.
O sees her dad fall, crawling to him she clutches his chest trying to keep in the blood that is seeping from his gunshot wound.
Mark grabs O and covers her body with his, trying to protect his daughter. Behind her, Jacob falls with a bullet hole in his head.
O barely realizes shes talking fast, saying comforting things to her dad as he continues to shield her, laboring to breath. The only gunshots that can be heard are now in the distance, realizing this, O pulls away from her dad to check his wound.

O
You’re going to be fine. You hear me? You going to be just fine dad.

Mark touches her face as he closes his eyes.

O
Dad? Dad?

A large arm wraps around O’s waist and pulls her away from her dead dad, she fights to stay with him.

INT. BLACK SUBURBAN, DELMONTE RANCH- CONTINUOUS
O sits in the backseat of an SUV and stares unseeing out the window. She’s still covered in her dad’s blood.
Beck’s eye is too swollen to see out of, so he climbs in the backseat with her as Lou gets behind the wheel. Beck pulls O into his lap and begins cleaning the blood from her hands. He slides her wedding ring from her finger and tosses it out the window, O is too numb to care.

EXT. EDGE OF THE FOREST- CONTINUOUS
In the darkness a man with a scar on his face watches Beck take care of O and then O wrap her arms around him before the SUV drives away. The scarred man takes cell phone photos before quietly leaving.

EXT. COTTAGE- DAY
It’s clear we are in the middle of nowhere. The small cottage is surrounded by forest with only one neighbor in sight. O walks towards the house and nervously knocks. No one answers.

O
Joey?

A high pitched scream comes from the cottage next door. O is running before the scream is finished.

O
Joey!

O bursts through the neighbors door and rushes inside. JOEY, male 6, is running from another room and stops when he sees O.

JOEY
Mommy!

Joey runs to O and jumps into her arms as she kneels down to catch him protectively.

O
Joey, baby are you okay? Why were you screaming?

JOEY
Daddy said he was going to tickle me!

O
Your dad?

BECK
He didn’t want to help unpack his room.

Joey untangles himself from O and grabs her hand pulling her to Beck.

JOEY
Dad, I want to show mommy my new room!

O
Why don’t you go upstairs and hide in your new room and we will see if I can find you!

Joey excitedly laughs and runs up the stairs as O turns to Beck.

O
New room?

BECK
I bought us a house.

O
What do you mean us? I’m taking Joey, and we’re leaving. Somewhere you can’t find us, remember.

BECK
I’ll just follow you.

O
You betrayed us!

BECK
Olive, it’s over! The plan worked. We can be with Joey, both of us. Isn’t that what you’ve always wanted? Why we risked getting killed to go back to your fathers house? It’s over Olive, we can stay in one place forever. No more looking over our shoulder, no more hiding. Joey can be a normal kid.

O wants nothing more than for Joey to have a normal, safe life.

O
All of us are going to live here? Like nothing ever happened?

BECK
We’re going to live here because we deserve it, because of what happened. I’m not expecting anything from you. But I miss my son, and I want to be with him, and you, if you’ll let me.

LUCY, female, late 30’s descends from the stairs, she looks just like Beck.

LUCY
Is there a reason Joey is hiding in his closet?

O embraces Lucy smiling.

O
I told him to hide.

LUCY
You better hurry, his patience is rather short these days. Kind of like his father.

O
Thank you for everything.

Lucy winks as O heads up the stairs. Lucy stands by her brother.

LUCY
You seem happy.

BECK
They’re really here aren’t they.

LUCY
Get used to it brother.

Beck smiles and takes the same path O just did.

END CREDITS.

INT. MANSION- DAY
The scarred man is standing in front of an older wealthy woman as she looks at printed copies the photos he took. The woman is clearly upset.

WOMAN
Are you sure it was my daughter-in law?

The man places O’s bloody wedding ring on the woman’s desk.

MAN
She betrayed us, she betrayed Jacob, and then threw this out the window as they drove away.

The woman holds up the ring.

WOMAN

Find her.
